(how each > joint is attached to each other, to fuse, to wing, to flap or to > Europa portion of fairing) I believe I've already sent you recommendations for locating the fairings w/ clecos and bonding the upper to the lower...if not, let me know. IMO, the keys are (1) ensuring symmetry port and starboard when locating the upper fairing, and (2) bonding upper to lower fairings BEFORE any cutting to allocate any portions of fairing to fuse, flap, or wing...again, to ensure symmetry...bonding upper and lower together will also strengthen the assembly and reduce flex. I've not gone into detail as to apportioning the fairing to fuse, flap, & wing since you've indicated you want to leave the fuselage "clean" and use fasteners for any portion which attaches to fuselage. I repeat my suggestion that you hold off on any clecoing of fairings to fuselage until after flap actuating mechanism is fully rigged and wings are rigged as well...the goal is for the fairings to kiss the fuselage along their entire length and rest easily upon the wing and flap when flap is fully retracted. > **As far as Frans install, do you think he just has a mini flange > laid up on your fairings around the anchor areas, or you think a > full in contact with fuse layup? (how many BID you think) Frans added a flange to contact the fuse...not an entire surface...he did, however, add a full closure panel at the front of the portion which he bolts to the fuselage. Frans also has NO portion of the UPPPER fairing attached to the flap...and this does simplify fitting...instead, he made a quick splash mold as a closure panel (bonded to the fairing which remains w/ the wing) when the flap is deployed.
