2 series resistors can be easily soldered to brass ends because I used a pilot drill to make a solder cup.
You need to tune 3 dials to same frequency to get best reception. Super hetrodyne did not come to be till I think ~ early 1940s??
This is a grid leak resistor for a tube.
One interesting thing is there is a good chance that it listened and played real time information on 1929 stock market crash/depression/recovery.
If he gets it working, it can listen and play realtime on 2009 crash aftermath/recession/????/????
