Here is a homemade gearbox puller. Think CPS sells one with a slide hammer for ~ $75.

Here is an inexpensive homemade gearbox puller.
The cost for a gearbox inspection including parts is about $450 and if the shaft is
bent past the acceptable limits then that is another $640. About 70% of the shaft
flanges are bent, just many people never bother to check it or know how to check it.
