Still no indication at all on the new ammeter. Went through the wiring continuity, everything checked. Tested the ammeter with a VOM, both the old and new ones worked properly. Finally came to the conclusion that the socket in the back of the cage holding the ammeter was bad and not making contact with the built-in plug on the back of the ammeter. Tried several fixes, none worked. Ordered a Hall Effect current sensor from Grand Rapids Tech. Will connect it to the EIS 4000 and get rid of the ammeters and shunts all together.
