I don't really have a clue about electrics. We have just been to Vietnam on holiday. The whole country is wired up like this, and it works. So how difficult can it be? Perhaps I should hire a Vietnamese to do it for me.

The issue being the softness and flexibility of the gasket material. Makes it difficult to ensure proper location while reattaching the bowl. The gasket is probably fine for a carb rebuild where you are doing it on the bench and can turn the carb over f

Here you see that the fuel outlets won't go past the pitch connection rod between the sticks. And this can not be removed to be replaced at a later date. The outlets have to be trimmed back by about 1/4 in (6.4 mm).
