When I received the plane it had a few areas of this green tape. I guess it was going to be used as a release agent for some sort of jig fabrication. I have found that this 3M stuff works very well.

Then I removed all the cheep crap connectors (with folded sheet metal pins) provided with the gage package, re-ran all the wiring and replaced the cheep connectors with good, 9-pin, sub-D connectors.
