Smooth rigging 5.
Alan fabricated a Tufnal shim to keep the starboard wing from sliding backwards and keeping it at the proper height to aid rigging.
He first routed the piece of Tufnal to get it close, then started with belt sander to get it closer, then hand sanded the rest of the way.
Dimensions are 1" wide, 1/2" thick and aft piece is 3/4" wide, and the shim extends 3/4" in front of the spar.
Prior to rigging wing we JB KWIKed a coffee stick for inboard registration, then JB KWIKed two 90 degree pieces of G-10 for the rest of registration.
We applied two pieces of 3M 375 packaging tape for a little clearance between spar and aileron bracket and the spar and Tufnal shim, (in other words below and behind the spar).
