Cut the 1" long hinge blocks off the 3/4" square aluminum rod. Positioned them on the ends of the lengths of angle. Drilled and tapped the holes for the screws. Unfortunately, I didn't have a bottoming tap and was unable to tap deepenough to full set the screws. Ordered a bottoming tap for the next weekend.
