This fan supplies 17MPH, with a leaf blower we tested 35MPH and 73MPH using a wall between duct and fan. Yield:
17MPH in - out 2.9MPH without fan
17MPH in - out 12.6MPH with fan +350%
35MPH +50%
73MPH +15%
An automobile fan has way too much drag when off even if you stopped blades, and not enough pitch speed to be at all useful when on. Katanas cool well but they have large frontal area thin radiators. The Europa radiator is small frontal area and thick. We are going to drop cowl, shooting for 1", massage the radiator duct to accept fan and drop it as far as possable to get it away from muffler and the aft of duct aimed down away from firewall to unconstipate cowl air. Will also put 2 smaller motors inside duct behind the gills! Net will be ~15 amps on a pulse width modulated speed controller with integral brake. Will incorporate reverse, where can on purpose constipate radiator duct for quick on the ground and inflight warm ups. You know an airplane can fly upside down, but when you run a prop backwards, it is not only flying upside down, but backwards as well! Folders open just fine backwards, just make a racket because they are stalled. Centrifucal force is a very powerful one, just ask Wayne who has been out the sunroof of my Turbo wagon with a 80MPH airspeed testing.
