I will leave ~ 1.25 diameters of thread engaging and remove all else
The reason I left so much of the thick material on the aft side is so I can hold the piece when I trim the forward length.
Once the forward length is trimmed, will turn aroung the part and machine off all the extra material not needed on the aft side.
Once the threaded piece is made to proper size, I will machine the spacer down to proper size as well.
