Trying not to mar flap cross tube too bad with Upstops 3 of 7
Very carefully I center drilled, then drilled a hole for 2-56 tap, then tapped pieces. It was extremely difficult because I was drilling through an area very close to weld and it was rock hard. I needed to sharpen my drill bit every hole. I used the tail-stock chuck on my lathe to get the tap started straight, then used it to do the tapping.
I had 2-56 SS flat head screws with shoulder laying around and they worked out well. They need a thickness of ~ .045" thick to hold onto.
