Flap drive pin install 14.
Alan made a measurement tool for checking if the laid out holes on the port and starboard flaps had close to the same moment arm before drilling.
After I installed the flap drive pins, I modified the tool to see how we did. The starboard pin is off about 1 full degree from level. The port pin was off by about .8 degrees.
The starboard pin is further away from the flap arm pivot compared to the port side by about .035".
I used a Hitachi 1/2" LiIon powered hand drill. There is a little slop in the main output bearing, (that holds the chuck).
I think I would have ended up a little more precise in both angle and moment if I would have used the centerdrill bit running at high speed when adjusting the height of the wing to target my laid out spot instead of using the centerdrill bit with the drill stopped, (as I did for both flaps).

****Updated idea is to drill a hole, starting with centerdrill working to 1/4" in similar material to what actual job is, then level bit and use a granite flat stone height gauge to measure tip of drill height above surface. Then very easily use height gauge to set height of wing. (Y10-12-08)
