Gear Collapse caused by not enough over center.
This is just one post of monowheel gear collapse problems. Click "Download Document" below.
Some things to check to prevent unwanted gear retract:
**Both LG08s are over center by ~ 1/16", no more than 1/8".
**LG08 to gear lever joint is solid with no play. I scuff sanded and Reduxed, reamed holes and used NAS hardware where I could. I also installed angle bracket to better attach LG08 to gear lever (I think mod 51? could be wrong number of mod).
**Make sure gear lever is pushing LG08 plenty hard against stops with no free play. I was not thrilled with just the aluminium guide acting as the down position cut out when I was Reduxed a piece of Tufnal and bolted it to the underside of the tunnel, I added an additional piece of G-10 to get tension just right (filling in any gaps with Redux/Flox). **Make sure your down latch can't get stuck in the up position. I installed a spring that works great. You can see I installed a reed switch in the tunnel and a magnet in the down latch to signal my gear annunciator:
