After using hand tools to shape side of fuse, Alan gets serious and does the last bit of shaping very carefully with some "power". We rarely use power tools for grinding or sanding due to excessive heat that can be generated with power tools and the ease with which you can remove too much material.
It was pouring outside, (we are borrowing a neighbors hangar), and couldn't take off the wings and store them on trailer so we just pulled them out a bit and have them resting on our pump jacks.
**We installed plastic .085" shims on both aft lift pin receptacles.
**The port receptacle is an OK fit, only a bit of Redux/flox will be used as a shim prior to 4 BID
**The starboard side needed another shim which Alan fabricated from 1/8" model aeroplane Birch plywood.
We are ready to Redux shim on starboard side and fill slight void on port side. We will do this and have wings rigged to get what we want as a fit. Once Redux is cured we need to 4 BID both sides as we removed much of our first 4 BID layup in our "make it right " program.
Once 4 BID cures we should be ready for final receptacle bonding.
