Rigging descision 2.5 Starboard, 2.4 Port and droop port flap .110 at root 3.
Because of a little extra twist in our accelerated port flap, the root is lower than it should be.
With flap at aileron intersection at a happy setting, it has the root .210" below the Europa wing template at the root about 4" outboard on the Gelcoat line, where the starboard side 4" outboard it touching the template.
Taking other things into consideration such as, it is easier to drop a flap than raise it, when rigging flaps, I will raise the port flap from where it is, (.210" below template), to .105" below the template. This will have the aileron intersection slightly high.
Looking at other measurements, this is it!

Ron,
My gut feel is:
An 1/8 inch of flap is like a 1/2 inch of aileron at about 100 Kts. As far as the
rudder, it would also then take a bit of rudder, how much, is too hard to say as the
rudder pedals do not give you a good visual of deflection.
Of course it depends on speed, the faster you go the worse the trim gets, but the
deflections are smaller, but the force is higher. It would be a pain to fly, but
would be easily within the control inputs of the Europa.

Subject: Flap droop question
Hi Bud
Wing rigging is going well, probably tomorrow night will get second set of lift pin
sockets bonded in place.
Quick question on drooping a flap:
If you took a nicely trimmed Europa clean in cruise, and drooped one flap 1/8",
about how much aileron deflection, (measured at the trail edge of the aileron),
would it take to keep wings level?
Same question about rudder, about how much rudder deflection would it take at the
TE of the rudder to keep a nicely trimmed Europa in cruise straight if you dropped
one flap 1/8"?
