After moving out of Richie's hangar Halloween night, we derigged in front of my hangar. We moved the wings inside our tent and rested them on pump jacks and saw horses to warm up so we could make flox ramps on the spars. This is in addition to the 3 flox ramps previously made. We found more bumps during further rigging and derigging sessions.
This was by far the easiest derigging yet!
Removing the spar pins didn't require much effort at all.
We had our Tufnal spar guides in place and were lifting on the port wing at the tip by the aileron hinge by about an inch.
I am one happy guy!
The flox ramps I describe in the next pict will help a little during derigging. The ramps stop the beating the bushings are taking by not allowing them to get hung up on the way out. They will also help with upon rigging by gently guiding the spar tip into the cowbells.
