Our pitot / static assembly didn't fit too well.
The base mounting plate was recessed a bit too much into the wing. The probes were canted inboard and the base mounting plate was not centered in the rebate.
First step was to scuff sand the entire rebate while scuffing the outboard mounting hole more in an attempt to straighten probes.
Then the inboard washer was lightly scuff sanded and JB KWIKed it in place.
The outboard washer was thinned with 220 grit sandpaper till it allowed the pitot / static to stand straight, then the washer was JB KWIKed in place.
The pitot / static was taped with 3M 375 tape, (including several wraps of the circumference with an 1/8" strip), and was set into a bed of JB KWIK.
After allowing it to cure for ~ 15 minutes the pitot / static assembly removed. Very nice fit now!
I heated JB KWIK with a heat gun for a few minutes, scuff sanded and we filled with a skim coat of 3M Flowable Finishing Putty.
