After we were satisfied the rudder was operating as it should, we tried to challenge the system.
Test didn't get very far before finding a flaw. If rudder pedals were pulled aft to slacken cable (in other words over power rudder springs), turnbuckle would tangle and easily jammed on thimble. This would allow rudder to be applied on the side that tangled, but would not allow full opposite rudder because the backstopping of pedal hitting up front would not allow.
