Small dark circle on bottom of gear down latch is where we put the two stacked mini reed switch magnets, (skimmed over with JB KWIK by bout .015"). Tongue depressor is holding the reed switch holder aluminium tube to the underside of gear lever guide while JB cures. We drilled lever and bonded magnets with downlatch in place. Things are set where if downlatch is forced hard port against gear slot, position where magnets are closest to reed switch, the bottom of gray circle needs to be even with the bottom of gear lever slot to make reed contacts, this is worst case and there is plenty of downlatch in slot at that point to prevent unwanted retraction. Other worst case is when lever and downlatch are forced hard starboard, this is where magnets are furthest away from reed switch, very easily closes reed contacts in that position. Y8-10-26
