There are two tabs visible on the flywheel. These are the triggers for the self-energizing, capacitive discharge ignition system. NO MAGNETOS. The CDI system has variable timing. 4 deg BTDC at speeds below 600 RPM and transitioning to 26 deg BTDC at 1000 RPM (22 deg BTDC in the 914).
