With the socket hard against the wing root rib, it wasn't enough to align the holes. It appears that the lift pin is screwed in somewhere between 1/2 and 1 1/2 turns too far. I checked the starboard aft lift pin with its W26 Assembly and it was exactly the same. This is not good. The lift pins are bonded in with Araldite 420 as well as being screwed in.
