I had a small scrap of 1/8 inch (3.175 mm) thick was tried behind the sensor. It will raise the fitting far enough to allow a hose to connect. Unfortunately, I don't have a piece of aluminum large enough to properly fill the space behind. I have ordered a 1 ft (30.48 cm) length of 1 1/2 inch (3.81 cm) wide x 1/8 inch (3.175 mm) thick aluminum from ACS.
