Cut two 1-inch lengths from the bar to use as supports.  One edge had to be rounded to fit in the fillet of the angle and provide a close, tight fit with the lower support arm.  The support block was clamped in place and #21 holes drilled, countersunk and threaded with a 10-32 tap.  A 1/2-inch countersink machine screw was used to hold the block in place.  Loc-Tite thread lock compound was applied to the threads of the screws to help hold them in place.  Using the existing hole in the lower arm as a guide, a 3/16-inch hole was drilled through the support blocks.
