Ooops, that glass is thin on the bottom side!
Alan redeems himself, (3rd attempt) by JB KWIKing a wood guide and very carefully sanding. It yielded a 1/4" of good glass and we picked another 1/8" of foam out between the layers.
The front side slit will get BID over, (4 BID, then a ~1/8" foam and 2 more BID).
